About

Founded in 2024, Bridgewater Christian Academy (BCA) is a small Christian School located in the Town of Bridgewater, the hub of Nova Scotia's South Shore. We exist to glorify God by giving students the opportunity to study all subjects through the lens of Biblical Christianity

"For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together."

~ Colossians 1:16-17

Statement of faith

The Bible - We believe the Bible to be the complete Word of God; that the sixty-six books, as originally written, comprising the Old and New Testaments were verbally inspired by the Spirit of God and were entirely free from error; that the Bible has been preserved through time and remains the final authority in all matters of faith and practice and the true basis of Christian union.

God - We believe in one God, Creator of all, holy, sovereign, eternal, existing in three equal Persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus - We believe in the absolute and essential deity of Jesus Christ, in His eternal existence with the Father in pre-incarnate glory, in His virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, triumphant ascension, mediatorial ministry and personal return.

The Holy Spirit - We believe in the absolute and essential deity and personality of the Holy Spirit Who convinces of sin, of righteousness and of judgment; Who regenerates, sanctifies, illuminates and comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ.

Man - We believe that man was divinely created in the image of God; that he sinned, becoming guilty before God to the depths of his being, thereby incurring physical and spiritual death.

Salvation - We believe that salvation is available only through the substitutionary death of Jesus. That on the cross Christ voluntarily suffered the righteous wrath of the Father in the place of sinners so that they could be justified. This salvation is by faith alone in the all-sufficient sacrifice and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and all who are justified shall be divinely preserved and finally perfected in the image of the Lord.

Gender and Sexuality - We affirm that God’s word is the standard for truth, and as such, has authority beyond our culture and our own hearts. We believe that God’s goodness expressed in the gospel demonstrates that His standard is good, and He can be trusted to lead us.

We affirm that God created human beings in His image as male and female and that as such, all men and women are deserving of dignity and respect.

We affirm the historical biblical teaching on marriage and sexuality – specifically that marriage is ordained by God to be one man and one woman for a lifetime.

Mission Statement

Bridgewater Christian Academy exists to glorify God by partnering with families to give students a solid academic and faith foundation through a Biblical worldview, preparing them to be a positive impact in their world for Christ.

Core values

♥️ Love

All of our academic and extracurricular pursuits should be charged by the purpose of loving God more fully, with our whole heart, soul, mind and strength. (Mark 12:30)

Our curriculum and academic programs are not arbitrary - they are chosen and used in a way that we hope will stir the affections of young hearts toward Christ.

🔭 Seek

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. With that as our starting place, we seek to understand the world God has created and our place in it. (Proverbs 9:10)

We promote curiosity in all of our classes and school activities, and answer students’ deep questions about life with gracious answers from God’s word.

🤝 Serve

Following the example of our Savior, we aim to cultivate a culture of service where students learn what it means to be servants to all. (Mark 10:45)

We look for opportunities to serve those around us who are in need through service days and other initiatives.

🌱 Grow

We work together to accomplish our goals and grow in our faith, all while stirring each other up to acts of love and good works. (Hebrews 10:24)

Growing together means we place a strong emphasis on community - which includes prayer in classrooms, school chapel services, and group learning projects.
